Son's Addition offers a mixed dining experience, with some customers applauding the delicious food and attentive service, while others criticize the need for improvement in both food quality and customer service. Located in the Mission district, this hidden gem provides a creative twist on dishes, with particular highlights being the crispy chicken and rice, as well as the tomato panzanella. The ambiance is charming, and despite some service hiccups and execution misses, the overall experience seems positive. With a reasonable wine markup and a menu that impresses, Son's Addition is sure to cater to a diverse range of tastes.

Loving sons addition. the food was very delicious. had the corked meat, and the fried sprout with one of them. had a little kick. fromalat was dressed slightly and very fresh. cheaper than some of the other brunch options in the mission. in any case it goes back!

We picked Son's Addition as a late Valentine's Day dinner because who needs social norms. We went on a Saturday, making reservations a few days before with ease. We were excited by the online menu, and the pricing felt quite reasonable, so we came with high expectations. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Bacon Kimchi Deviled Eggs, which were delicious, but slightly too salty for both of our taste. Our host and server were thoughtful, attentive, and friendly in the extreme. Next came the Bone Marrow, which was absolutely incredible. The dishes were spaced out well and the meal had a nice flow to it. The ambiance in the restaurant was quite pleasant... excellent for a date. The music was a little loud at times but overall the volume was pleasant. Our third dish was the Poached Chicken and Crispy Skin... which was an explosion of different and distinct flavors. It was intense and absolutely delicious. 10/10 would order again. Very intriguing flavor combinations. We finished our meal with the Broiled Yellowtail Collar. This was my favorite dish of the meal by far. The flavor of the fish and the accompanying tastes to complement were perfectly executed. For dessert, we ordered the Apple Huckleberry Crumble. It was a dessert made in heaven, and I would go back just for that. It was the perfect way to cap off a delicious meal. One starter, three small plates, and a dessert was the perfect amount of food for a pair to leave full. This is an excellent, affordable place to eat, and is wonderful for a romantic night out. Staff is friendly and service is expert. The only hiccup was when my partner asked for no cilantro or as little as possible, as the menu was generally heavy on cilantro. The first dish was customized to order, but the no cilantro request was lost in translation for the following dishes. Despite this, we had a wonderful evening and appreciate the restaurant and its staff very much. Great dinner spot.

GREAT food. Our waitress was a little off, like every time we asked for something it was confusing to her, but I think that was a one off. The host staff and literally anyone else who visited our table was warm and professional. Not too crowded, beautiful ambiance. Will be back and will recommend!

Fantastic experience. The food was amazing. That said, as a table of pescatarians all we sampled were the fish dishes which were amazing. Couldn’t even pick a dessert so we just ordered one of each. There were three of us and all three of us favored a different one. Highly recommend this place!
