Went for a nice leisurely lunch with two friends here today and I must say what a pleasant surprise it was… we started with the the pappardelle with braised duc... read more Went for a nice leisurely lunch with two friends here today and I must say what a pleasant surprise it was… we started with the the pappardelle with braised duck to share it was ok the pasta a bit al dente for my liking but wasn’t bad either my friends liked it.. I ordered the wagyu burger as my main and it did not disappoint was so yummy not the biggest but definitely tasty I had all the fixing cheese n bacon.. .both my friends ordered the scallops and that too was yummy.. for dessert I had their delicious crème pistachio ice crème and my friends ordered the bread pudding and panna cotta which they raved about as well.. all in all good food, good ambience and the service was great and we definitely will be adding this to one of our go to for lunch or dinner in our neighborhood.

Not only the food was SUPERB and authentic, but also our server Steve was exceptional and made us feel right at home (grazie mille! We enjoyed the signature dish (duck pappardelle , rigatoni all 'amatriciana, chocolate cake with EVO (so yummy and a bottle fo Ferrari Brut bubbles from Trento, Italy. Everything was absolutely excellent! As an Italian expat in SF, I can most definitely recommended Sociale and can 't wait to be back.

Hard to find because the entrance is nondescript. Inside it's a really nice Italian restaurant (white tablecloths, people dressed up for dinner). I didn't know that and showed up in a PlayStation hoodie. Service was impeccable anyway. Server was friendly and attentive and helpful. Sent over the sommelier to help with wine selection. We had the duck pasta the game hen and the pork chop. All great. Server treated us to a dessert because of a tiny mistake that was all my fault. Nice atmosphere. Kind of an indoor patio type situation and lots of families having dinner. Perfect for taking visiting parents or a date night.

Suggestion for the restaurant: specify indoor or outdoor for the tables rather than “standard” or outdoor. There’s nothing to compare “standard” to if it’s the only option for your time slot. I have dined at Sociale countless times and honestly thought outdoor was standard. It was disappointing to learn that “standard” is defined as “indoor,” while hosting a group for my birthday dinner, with a vision for an outdoor experience.
