Papito is a vibrant Mexican cantina with a subtle French influence, offering well-presented organic Mexican dishes in a colorful setting. Customers rave about the flavorful food, including the braised short rib tacos and margaritas. The friendly service and ample parking add to the positive dining experience. With free chips and three salsas to start, generous portion sizes, and a welcoming atmosphere both indoors and outdoors, Papito stands out as a must-visit spot for Mexican classics in San Francisco.
Excellent Mexican food. They start you with three salsas and chips, which are delicious. I had a carnitas super burrito, also very good. Friendly staff and a very attractive interior. They have a full bar as well. Definitely the place to for Mexican classics if you're on the north side of Protrero Hill.
One of the best Hispanic restaurants I?ve been to. The 3 complimentary spices with chips are all SO good in diverse ways, the meats in their entree?s are genuinely well made, and the quantity is surprisingly alot. And super friendly attendants and owners to top it off. My go-to in SF.
Enjoyed the vegetarian options. The quesadillas were one of the best I've ever had, and were loaded with veggies. The enchiladas and queso fundido were also good. I got the enchiladas with both red and green salsa but I liked the green more. The portions are quite large and those three items is excess for 2.
This is a colorful and vibrant Mexican Cantina with Subtle French influence and an emphasis on well presented, organic Mexican dishes. Recommended if you're looking for a sit down Mexican fare that tastes upscale but has more of a local authentic vibe. Ahuge plus here is the friendly service, the abundant and safe parking, and the amazing food. Free chips and 3 salsas is also abonus! I highly recommend their margaritas as well as the short rib tacos. We were blown away by the braised short rib tacos asthey were absolutely perfect. It also appears that the fajitas here are worth ordering. The servers were passing these out leftand right and the smell of fire grilled steak and vegetables filled the restaurant. It was really a great experience. Highlyrecommended if you want a casual vibe and amazing food but want something a little more inviting and healthy than your typicalBay Area taqueria.
Looks good, but we unfortunately had to leave as we were sitting there for a bit and realized no one had came to take our order. It was a Thursday night and they were packed with what looked like only a couple people working so I don?t fault them too much.If we had time to kill we would have stayed but we had a show to get to unfortunately. +1 for the chips and salsa.
