Seated immediately. The staffs are attentive and friendly. Every server there works hard and fast. Food is delicious and flavorful. Service is not rushed. Nice neighborhood spot. Price is very reasonable. Lovely place. Noisy because we have a big part right behind us. Will return.
The food was amazing!! My daughter ordered the Pollo Limon and I had the Ravioli Aragosta. The pasta was fresh and perfect. The balance of sauce, pasta, and artichokes was spot on. The waitress was attentive and made an great margarita. We were on vacation so we splurged on desert. The desert plates presentation was as great as the main dishes. We would definitely return to Operacaffe the next time we are in San Diego.
The food was great as usual. The bruschetta is out of this world. Everything was great as usual.

Simply the very best Italian food we’ve had since living in the USA. A little piece of Florence in downtown San Diego…. Delicious reasonably priced food, excellent wine…antinori 2021 a fantastic vintage)under $50 snd impeccable service. Highly recommend
The duck ragu pappardelle was delicious. The clam linguini perfect. The pear arugula salad with Gorgonzola was delicious. Best we’ve ever eaten. They delivered a wonderful Tirimisu to celebrate my mother’s birthday. It was a perfect dinner before the show. The service was excellent.

The service was great and the food was amazing. We celebrated a milestone birthday and they treated our party so well with dessert for the entire table. We will definitely go back.
We make a point of visiting every year. The food is excellent and the service is also. They cook everything perfectly. The servers are considerate and attentive. We have never been disappointed and look forward to going again next year.
We go here every year when we visit for Comiccon, and once again, it did not disappoint! The food is always delicious and the service fantastic. If you love great Italian food don't hesitate!
Thiswas our first time at Operacaffe and it did not disappoint. We weregraiously greeted by Quica to our reserved table for 6. Weeere pleasantly surprised withstood assortment of cocktails wine and beer. The food menu also offered a wide range of choices, including daily specials. I ordered Veal Osso Bucco and the portion was sufficiently generous to share with my husband. Others in our party ordered Pollo Limone and Osso Bucco ravioli all excellent and tasty. We will definitely return.
If you want hair in your food and dead flies on your seating this is the perfect place to come to. Tables are very wobbly and lopsided. Easy for dishes to slide off and is difficult to share if your with a group because of spacing. Gnats flying and crawling around you can get a tad annoying. Both me and my brother got hair in our dishes. Hair in pastas. Food was pretty good taste wise besides the hair. Quality of food doesn’t quite match the price in my opinion. If I’d recommend anything it’d be the raw beef starter. Don’t think I’ll be coming again though.

Reservations are a must. Especially if you have a show at Balboa Theater. It is conveniently located quite close to the theatre. The staff was very nice. Eat it excellent. Not a huge place, so it's not good for groups bigger that 6 or less.
The Cioppino was good of the pappardelle duck ragu was only phenomenal. It was so elevated that I had to eat another before I left SD. The orange toe was in perfect harmony with the texture of pasta and truffle oil. Definitely one of the best Italian dishes I tasted in North America.
Top-notch authentic Italian. Had the Bruschetta with Mozzarella, then the lobster ravioli. Both were incredible, the lobster ravioli had the creamy richest sauce and some peeled shrimps cooked in it. Great service, indoor and outdoor seats.
Very authentic Italian food. Nicely presented and the staff was very fast and super polite. I'd like to come back here.

This place was Delicious. I was traveling from Los Angeles and took the family for dinner the environment was warm and cozy and the food was Divine. Great choice for a family or date night
This place is oh so fabulous. Very attentive waitstaff/owner. I had the bucatini with shrimp. I also highly recommend the homemade tiramisu for dessert.
Very nice food and super friendly staff. Great ambience. We went early Tuesday morning and they had just opened up. The lady there was very nice and the food arrived on time. Portion sizes are decent. Plenty of vegetarian/ gluten free options. Will definitely revisit and recommend to friends and family.

This was my first time dining in at a restaurant rather than ordering takeout. The Italian food here was, at best, mediocre. My first interaction with the waiter occurred shortly after I was seated when he...

We stopped here for dinner while in town for a Padres game. We ordered the Maine Lobster Ravioli, Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken, Linguine Alle Vongole Veraci, and another ravioli dish (don't recall the name). Most of the dishes were excellent, though the clam dish was fairly bland. However, there were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant, so the service significantly declined throughout the meal, with zero table visits after the food was dropped off. We would have ordered dessert but it was never offered to us, so we just paid and left. All in all, the food was mostly great, and on a less busy night, perhaps the experience would be better.
