Mathilda is a charming French restaurant in San Francisco that offers excellent service. While some dishes received mixed reviews, such as the ribeye special and over-salted bone marrow, other items like the scallop special and coq au vin were praised for their delicious flavors. The restaurant's ambiance is cozy and authentic, with a lovely back patio for a tranquil dining experience. Despite some inconsistencies in menu items and service, Mathilda remains a favorite for many patrons, with consistent quality in food and friendly service. The restaurant also offers a great value during restaurant week, with options like a 3-course meal with steak starter for $30. Overall, Mathilda is a delightful bistro in SOMA that captures the essence of southwest French cuisine and provides a memorable dining experience for its customers.

We have been twice in the last 2 weeks ... which describes how much we love Metro 8. The porcini mushrooms are my favorite, along with steak and tuna. The vegetables are always so fresh and perfectly prepared. The salads are crispy and properly dressed and the wine list is huge and delicious. Perfect for dates, girls' nights or special occasions. Correctly priced for the top quality food you get. Better steaks than Angus Barn, better pasta than Maggianos and much cheaper. The terrace is our favorite dining room, but the tables inside are super romantic. We will be back soon without a doubt. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, top bar and wine list and food in the region to celebrate small business ... all my favorite things! Parking is so much easier than downtown Durham and we love the taste of 9th Street. The desserts are fantastic and the coffee is delicious.

Ideal for Father's Day because the portions are large and strong. Airy high ceilings. Music of the type 'Frank Sinatra'. Very pleasant.

Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit on the veranda on a fairly wet June evening, and the ceiling fans provided a nice breeze. We find that most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without getting involved. She noted that it was nice to see children with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely dinner here, made reservations about a week in advance for the restaurant week pre fixe menu with a girlfriend. The back patio is well done and tranquil. The service felt quite authentic, and the food was quite great. I waslooking to order a second glass of wine and wasn’t able to get the servers attention until we were finished with our entrees, which was a bit unfortunate. Even so I’d like to come back for the regular menu.

Delicious meal, reminds us of a recent visit to Paris. Authentic. Prawns appetizer was quite tasty. We will be back!
