What Lillian D'Amore doesn't like about Dona Esther Mexican Restaurant:
Waited 45 min just for water after being seated, and completely ignored as others around us were being repeatedly waited on. Restaurant about half full, busy but not unreasonably so. I strongly do not recommend unless you know them personally and can expect unique treatment. There's a place across the street that may be better. View all feedback. What Wallace Daniel likes about Dona Esther Mexican Restaurant:
The best Mexican food and mixed drinks on this side of the border. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Try the flour tortilla chips with their homemade salsa. The best chips ever! View all feedback.

read moreLocated in San Juan Bautista, Dona Esthers is a Mexican restaurant that has received mixed reviews. While some diners were disappointed with the lack of authenticity in the food, slow service, and unprofessional staff, others raved about the delicious dishes and friendly atmosphere. The establishment has been a favorite of some patrons since the 80s, with dishes like Cameron Enchiladas and Chile Verde being highly recommended. Despite some negative experiences, many diners praise the restaurant for its tasty food, large portion sizes, and welcoming ambiance. So, if you find yourself in the area, it might be worth giving Dona Esthers a try to see which side of the debate you fall on.
