The Criterion - Sale

Rex, one of the owners of the hotel is the highlight of our stay. He was humble and ever so pleasing, never flinched with our requests and offered an amazing experience. I have been travelling the globe for over 25+ years and he is the best hosts I have come across! The housekeeping however let it down for us, I'm sure they will pick their game up, however it could have been done better! Onwards and upwards they say! Rooms: 4

Stayed at the Criterion recently for two nights. My review of the Hotel: nicely renovated, some rooms appear on the smaller side but clean and modern. Two elevators service the upstairs. Staff were lovely and professional. A fair amount of parking available and some spots near the entrance are undercover. Noise from the bar on the ground floor was minimal and stopped at a very reasonable time. Accessibility: easy access no step entrance. Accessible room available. After hours access door does have a step. My review of the restaurant: I would give it 3 Stars. We found the staff to be nice but the food was very disappointing. I was hoping the charcuterie board might showcase Gippsland vendors but I have to say it was the worst cheese, salami, pickles, bread etc that I’ve had. Ever. Yes I can safely say that. We had two meals at the restaurant. So disappointing. It is a pity because I’ve had great tasting food at places like this in the past and I was hoping to experience the same. The best of the dishes was the chicken Parma.

Great pub and service. The food was awesome. It's better than and just as quick as fast food. Food drinks: Prompt service and great staff. Toilets very clean. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great value

This place is wow, amazing food I’ll give it 10 stars ‍ we have stayed here a few times now, and have tried a few dishes and oh boy! never ever let us down we drive 5 hours to stay here, highly recommend food and rooms are lovely clean and well dressed ‍ Rooms: Clean comfortable and well dressed ‍ Food drinks: Yummy as every dishe we have had has been spot on ‍ Rooms: 5

Good location and handy if you have a Tesla charger. Friendly staff and good booking system. The food and drink at the hotel was great. Would have given an overall 4.5 stars if I had that option. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4
