we were two nights in the gas house and it's just beautiful. because it is a time building, there is no elevator, so that they carry it over the stairs. the room is nicely decorated, the continental breakfast was good, and we enjoyed both the restaurant...and bar in the ground floor to dinner. it felt like being in the fawlty towers, except there was no old regular! eating in the restaurant was very good, and the pri... What Chaya Funk doesn't like about Auberge Chateau Lamontagne:
Hotel staff leaves around (I guess), because we couldn't use the TV and the only person available to help was a waiter from the restaurant. We were told that two bottles of water were in our room because we couldn't drink the hotel water....Staff laid out the breads and toasters for morning breakfast the night before. We left before eating....because we couldn't figure out how they would reconstitute juices, make cof... View all feedback.
I have eaten in hundreds of restaraunts and this is my first review. We went there because of the setting, the food was ok, but pricy, and our waitress was very pleasant. The experience was 3 1/2 hours of forgetfulness by our waitress, we were...More
The Château Lamontagne is the place where my husband and I have spent time to celebrate special and important events and always did we enjoy the service, the view on the St. Lawrence River -and mostly, the gastronomic food. You will not be disappointed. It is a MUST!Have a wonderful stay.
This is a beautiful house with a lovely dining room overlooking the water. I was looking for a special meal and I found it here. Sitting in front of the fireplace, eating delicious, well prepared food and watching the sunset, what more could you ask for. I had huge scallops for an appetizer, lamb and then crème brulee all served by an excellent young man who was originally from France. An after dinner drink on the patio overlooking the water was lovely while watching the twinkling lights of the town. I did not stay at this Auberge but if the rooms and service are like their dining room I am sure it would be a delightful experience. My best meal of the trip.
We prefaced dinner with a walk on the beach. As we'd eaten a late lunch, we opted for appetizers of sea scallops, wine
Very nice stay here where all the staff are so friendly and professional. The room was nice and comfortable. The terrace with an elevated view on the river and facing the west is perfect for an aperitif. The dining experience is also excellent. Overall you will enjoy.
