This is an excellent breakfast spot! The food was fantastic. We ordered two eggs with bacon and one side dish. The bacon was perfect—fresh and high-quality, not some generic option. The hash browns were cooked just right. The "Holly Bowl" was also delicious. The toast was fresh and expertly prepared. The staff was extremely friendly as well. I would give it more than five stars if I could! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Big Biscuit:
We were seated near the kitchen door and waited patiently for someone to take our drink order. During that time, a frustrated young staff member emerged from the kitchen, and the only word I could make out was "Fk." After a while, I decided to approach someone to see if we could get service. We finished our breakfast and waited for the bill, but our waitress mistakenly brought the wrong one. While the food was good,... View all feedback.
Large portion on a pancake, omelette, biscuit collaboration. Overall okay taste, certainly not James Beard worthy. Server was friendly. Huge drawback was we were there right at lunchtime. Not crowded (red flag). It took well over 10 minutes to get seated (we finally just picked a table). The very few staff we saw walking around avoided eye contact in our direction.
We went here for breakfast. The service was very slow, we sat and waited for about 15 minutes before even getting a cup of coffee. When we did get waited on the waitress was very friendly and I can say nothing bad about her service. The food however was overcooked. Eggs Benedict are typically served with a poached egg with a creamy yolk. The ones we were served however were cooked until the yolk was hard. The biscuits were also hard and the ham was tough. The breakfast potatoes were also overcooked. My son ordered hash browns that were cooked until they were hard and crispy, not at all tasty. My wife had a waffle that looked like they emptied an entire can of whipped cream on it. At least her waffle was good. Total we spent over $50 for 3 people to eat and the food was not worth it. If you're looking for a breakfast place in St. Joe I would recommend skipping this one. It's not any better than a fast food restaurant, just much more expensive.
Always enjoy stopping in for breakfast. This last time they had some newer waitresses that were still learning but still did an excellent job. The food was delicious as usual. I usually get the half order of biscuits and gravy, side of wheat toast and a side of bacon.
Not too bad. Portions are fair for the price. Service gets 3 stars partly due to the lack of servers and the servers tbat are there just seem to be going through the motions....no real service
Was seated back by the kitchen door patiently waiting for someone to get our drink order. In the mean time a very upset young lady worker came flying out of the kitchen yelling and the only word I understood was F k . I finally went up front to see if someone could wait on us. We got waited on and finished our breakfast and waited for ticket. Walked up front and our waitress rang up wrong ticket. The food was good but the service could of been better.
