I was suggested by the owner of my hotel to book this restaurant not very far from my staying. I must admit that this restaurant not only is nice inside with two very comfortable rooms, but also a great fireplace where they cook meat and fish on the fire. What User doesn't like about Restaurant Au Gue de Louis XI:
strong disappointment. Our previous experiences were really satisfactory. Tonight, the kitchen was too fat, badly cooked, badly presented. Too fat, presented without care, fat covering the bottom of the plate with magret bathing in. St jacco brush with no gustative interest, presented with a large ladle of ribbony carrots and a large ladle of rice. This presentation made it more thought of a canteen service than that... The restaurant is not very big but the quality and service are there.
Disappointed by this legendary restaurant. Dishes served with large quantities of vegetables presented in unattractive piles. Desserts served (frozen nougats) with raspberries which appear beautiful but are damaged when turning them. The only positive point is cooking over a wood fire!
I am waiting for the opening with the new owner Mr De L'Espinay, big works, big change at the inauguration ?????
