We were lucky to get out of... read more Hotel Ochsen also has a restaurant that I would like to rate today: The ambience is just wonderful. The services are friendly to us. We were lucky to get out of the food and you just felt great here as on holiday. The prices are not bargains, but are worth the cents. The salad that belongs to the food can be combined at the salad bar in the restaurant itself. The selection was bombastic and there were no more wishes. The dishes were freshly prepared and also lubricated. The children were beautifully carved and got colored pencils and leaves for the pastures. An absolute great culinary experience and absolutely top!!!

The restaurant is well maintained and clean, but the style of an old restaurant. You know you're in a better restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly, but not stiff. The drinks were served quickly and special requests are also met without any problems. The food was delicious, beautifully dressed and also enough. I had the pork steak with pepper sauce, beans in bacon and roast potatoes. The pepper sauce is sharper than I know, but I liked it very well. Unfortunately, we don't often pass here in Saig, but if not, we'll be back.

Our table service was aloof and limited to the bare minimum. The other staff were very courteous and attentive. No waiting times. Salads and soups were good. The duck breast dish and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were mediocre at best. The remaining dishes and desserts were good. Overall, we felt the high prices were not justified. We won't be coming back.

The food was the only bright spot of the entire evening; it was good to very good, and I would describe the resulting value for money as very good and would recommend it. Unfortunately, the service was the complete opposite. The reception was professionally friendly, but the waitress at our table was overwhelmed and noticeably annoyed. The crowning moment of the evening, however, was sitting at our table for over 20 minutes with empty glasses, and no one bothered to take care of it it looked the same at the other tables . After I went to the manager, annoyed, and asked for the bill, the waitress returned with it without ! asking how I wanted to pay, without asking if we would be splitting the bill, without my wallet, and without cash! A complete no-go . I then served coffee and wine to my guests at home. It 's worth mentioning that the male server North African? was professional and friendly at the table. My conclusions are: 1 I will continue to eat in Freiburg and along the Danube, as the service there is excellent. 2 This visit has put an end to my plans to hold a family celebration in town, which I had planned for 2026.
