Contribute FeedbackRegular customers of the restaurant have praised the good food and friendly staff, although busy Sundays can be loud. The varied menu and 'pass port' promotion are appreciated. The decor is smart, with a pub side and restaurant seating side, including a private function room. While the Sunday meal was mostly good, some dishes needed improvement, such as crisper potatoes and lackluster vegetables. Service was hit or miss, with some customers receiving subpar treatment. Despite these issues, many patrons still enjoy the food and overall experience at the Crown and Cushion.
I recently visited Crown and Cushion and once again was impressed with the food. I made a reservation for a special Saturday night dinner and despite the restaurant being busy, our dishes and drinks were served promptly. The service was efficient and friendly and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
A last-minute search on travel advisor let us discover this little jewel. Would definitely return to the area just for the steak and ale cake. A must!
No complaints here - delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere at this pub.
The food was good as usual, but the service was terrible. We were not offered the usual bread basket to start, which other tables had already received. Additionally, we were not offered desserts or dessert menus. The staff seemed overwhelmed, as I had to pay at the bar after waiting a long time for the bill. When I politely shared my opinion on the meal when paying, a member of the staff responded with an attitude and simply blamed being busy and short-staffed. Despite being at the restaurant since 7:00 PM and the restaurant being mostly empty, they continued to use being busy as an excuse. A simple apology would have made the experience better, but unfortunately, it was not provided. I do not plan on returning.
Lovely food, friendly staff. Very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
