We are so embarrassed by their bitterly disappointing experience and lack of care by the staff. The steak arrived over-cooked (was ordered 'rare ' and when the customer sent this back, the waiter returned with a blue steak and an over-cooked lamb for his wife. There has been no apology and no care shown by the so-called general manager. This restaurant/hotel has always been our favourite in this area, under the old management, with the highest of reputations. However, sadly, it seems to have slipped very quickly. We gladly pay high prices for top quality food, and therefore we 'll continue to patronise the Star Inn at Harome and give the Pheasant a wide berth.

Ordered the steak and for GBP 40.00 I thought it would at least be a 250g fillet. Instead it was a thin cut and very disappointing for the price. Even the peppercorn sauce was extra! Still....can't fault the lovely waiting staff and Yorkshire in the sunshine!

Nothing was too much trouble.

We had two meals at this hotel (didn't stay there) both meals were excellent and the service was first class, a real gem of a place.
