Coles is a welcoming neighborhood tavern serving affordable, well-made pub fare—standout burgers, fried items, salads and decent chowder—paired with craft cocktails and cheap tallboys. Staff are friendly and attentive, and the lively, casual atmosphere features outdoor seating, TVs, trivia nights and event hosting. Minor downsides include occasional slow service, kitchen mix-ups, an inconsistent eggs Benedict, sporadic table cleanliness and limited parking. Overall, it’s a good-value local spot ideal for groups, casual dinners and watching games.

Was Mark Nickel at Coles Grill a mag?
The food was excellent. The burger had a classic taste reminiscent of old-school diners; it could easily have been a standard order, but it was truly delicious as it came. The sauces were outstanding, particularly a spicy mayo that had a hint of BBQ sauce. The fried items were well-prepared, with the chicken sandwich and fried pickles served hot and perfectly crispy—something many places struggle to achieve. The atmo... View all feedback.
What Kelli Jones dislikes about Coles Grill:
Overall, I like Coles. I tried the eggs bennie recently though, and, wow, that piece of ham was as thin as a piece of paper. And the hollandaise, I am quite sure, was made from a Knorr hollandaise package. So it was ok. The service was awesome. Other breakfast items there offer more value maybe they can step things up a little with the eggs benedict. : Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 View all feedback.
We tried the fish and chips along with the fish tacos and chowder. The chowder was decent, and both the fish and chips and fries were quite good. Prices were reasonable. The service was attentive and friendly, which enhanced our experience. There were several TVs showing football games, but no music playing. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to returning.
We initially wanted to dine at the Italian restaurant next door, but it required reservations, so we decided to try Coles instead, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. They offer fancy cocktails as well as $3 Rainier tallboys, with a good selection of craft beers in between. I highly recommend the bacon and blue cheese salad, and my wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich immensely. Overall, I encourage everyone to consider purchasing one of these local spots in Port Orchard and transforming it into a great bar or tavern. Please!
