Pre food drinks were spectacular especially the breakfast Martini and the Rhubarb sour and the Negroni. A lime and soda made from fresh limes was excellent. The 5 course tasting menu was playful but special. Every course was a delight especially the Bradgate Venison. Pedro’s personality and wine choices enhanced the whole experience. We will be back again soon

We did the 5 course tasting menu and everything was excellent. Can’t speak highly enough of the food, the theatre and the service. Our servers Gracie and Stella were excellent. The Michelin-starred culinary journey was definitely the highlight of our visit. The chef's dishes were truly spectacular, showcasing culinary mastery and artistry. The sommelier's wine pairings enhanced the dining experience beautifully. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the courses with professionalism and warmth.However, our experience took a turn when the restaurant manager insisted on the fixed 7-course menu without any alternatives, which felt inflexible and disappointing. Another downside was a loud table that disrupted the peaceful atmosphere for couples looking for a more intimate dining experience.In summary, John's House is a culinary paradise where dreams come true thanks to the chef's skills and the sommelier's expertise. However, the management should be more accommodating to guests' preferences and ensure a harmonious atmosphere, especially during special occasions like Christmas.

The staff was incredibl... read more We recently returned to this restaurant and decided to stay overnight in the cottages. We were truly impressed by the entire experience. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly. They were a valuable asset to the business and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. The accommodation was lovely with thoughtful touches such as fresh bread, chocolates, coffee, eggs, and wine. The bathroom had quality cosmetics and the furnishings and design were authentic. The food was exquisite, balanced, flavorful, and creatively presented. The wine selection was excellent, expertly chosen by a friendly sommelier who explained everything in a non-intimidating way. Overall, we were blown away by our experience and are already planning a return visit. Thank you to the entire team at Johns House for a memorable night!

While all the appetizers were delicious, I was disappointed by three of the dishes that were served. The staff seemed surprised by my reaction. Despite this, I still had a good time, though the food did not quite live up to the amazing standards I have experienced at this restaurant in the past.
