We have recently started visiting fairly regularly. The food is always hot, arrived promptly and the staff are friendly and keen to ensure your visit was satisfactory. This evening there was an issue with my meal which was resolved quickly which meant I wasn’t eating alone because the rest of my partly had finished their meal. There was no fuss just good service. I love the decor, and the welcoming open fireplace (fire was lit today . There was only one person behind the bar, but he was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly. My husband had a roast dinner, which he said was decent. I had Sea Bass, which was overcooked (although that's better than being undercooked , with soggy skin (fried then microwaved? , 3 bits of asparagus, and some new potatoes they were al dent... Polite and efficient staff, decent tap list and not unfriendly locals.
I was disappointed by the 50-minute wait for two meals on a quiet Thursday evening at the pub. It was just before Christmas, but the late afternoon wasn't too busy. When the food finally arrived, it was just okay, not as good as I had expected. For example, the avocado in the salad was not quite ripe. However, I did enjoy the nice atmosphere and the friendly staff.
Booked a meal at the appletree in wilford on Christmas day food was lovely worth the money , staff forgotten my Brussels but not to worry
