The same girl who is the receptionist,... read more In keeping with the poor service, lack of staff and maintainence of the motel itself, the restaurant fits right in there. The same girl who is the receptionist, barmaid and telephonist, is also the waitress. We have eaten at the Oasis before and the food was not bad, but a change of Chef since then has spelt disaster. Talk around the town is that he does Indian food twice a week, this is apparently quite good. However, give him what was an excellent piece of steak and ask for it medium rare and you get something reminicent of day at the crematorium. Presentation is poor, as if the attitude is "as long as it is on the plate it doesn't matter. Suffice to say we did not eat there a second time.

The same perso... read more The restaurant at this motel seems to reflect the overall experience of poor service, lack of personal attention, and general maintenance issues. The same person who creates the recipes, tends the bar, answers the phone, and waits tables. Our initial meal at the Oasis was decent, but since then there has been a significant decline in quality. Rumor has it that the chef excels at Indian cuisine when it's on the menu twice a week. However, when we requested a steak cooked medium rare, it arrived more closely resembling something from a crematorium. The presentation was sloppy, as if they believed as long as it made it to the plate, that was all that mattered. Needless to say, we did not give it a second chance.
