When we arrived, the door was closed, which s... read more I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading some positive reviews, but my visit fell short of expectations. When we arrived, the door was closed, which set a less-than-ideal tone. My partner really liked the chowder, and we both tried the mussels as an appetizer. While the portion was on the smaller side, they were quite flavorful. My salmon main course was good, but the sauce lacked seasoning, and the scallops were overcooked. My partner's fish and chips were acceptable. However, it appeared that several items on the menu were already sold out by the time other guests arrived. To top it off, the staff could have been more attentive to the diners.

We had the scallop starter the prawn cocktail, although this had too much Marie Rose dressing and was immediately taken off our bill. The...lamb shank dish was excellent. If we'd been in Roundstone longer, we would have returned.
