Had coffee and ciabattoni for breakfast here twice with an Italian friend and we’re treated very well, our Filipino waiter was very jovial. Lots of locals seem to frequent this place, overall a great experience.
This is a dreadful rip off bar near Vatican. Avoid. 2 coffees and water €17 and they add a tip. Coffee was awful. Plus plenty of flies
The staff here are rude tricksters out to rip off tourists so beware. This was our only bad experience in Rome. We asked for a beer and a glass of wine. My husband was presented with a one litre glass of beer huge! Cost 12 euros!! So he sent it back. They opened a bottle of expensive wine to give me a glass rather than one of the usual small bottles I had pointed to in their fridge. I tried to stop the waiter opening it, but he pretended it was his first day and he didn’t understand totally untrue. It became clear that he was very familiar with the place. I refused the glass of wine and my husband would only accept a normal size pint of beer. There were three men behind the counter and they seemed very amused by our dissatisfaction, but then one of the staff returned to our table, seemed conciliatory, and said I could have the glass of wine without charge. When I went to pay they bill they had billed us for the wine anyway because, and I quote, you drank it! Rather than spoil what otherwise had been a very pleasant day, we paid their extortionate bill. This is an establishment that cynically sets out to exploit tourists. Highly recommend you look elsewhere. Plenty of quality bars and restaurants around to choose from. We just got unlucky. Hope you give it a miss.
We were overcharged x2 for coffees and pastries. Waiter very rude and shouted at couple beside us who questioned their bill. Avoid
