Cali Aji - Riverview
Cali Aji
Description
At Cali Aji, reviews are decidedly mixed, reflecting a restaurant that struggles to maintain consistency. While some patrons rave about the flavorful tacos and attentive service, others lament the stale, overcooked dishes and questionable quality of certain meals. With pricing considered high compared to portion sizes, diners express disappointment when expectations aren’t met. However, the inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and well-received cocktails do provide some redeeming qualities. For those with a craving for Latin cuisine, Cali Aji presents a mixed bag of experiences that could charm some while leaving others unsatisfied. Proceed with caution or stick to drinks and pastries.

We were craving tacos and chose Cali Aji for our meal. We've visited this place several times but haven’t written a review until now. We ordered the shrimp and beef tacos, and they were fantastic—good enough to rave about! The cocktails were also excellent; the mojito wasn’t overly sweet, and the rum and coke was just right. Thank you, Cali Aji, for a wonderful dining experience—we’ll definitely be back!
I had visited this restaurant once before, a couple of years ago after returning from Colombia, and it wasn't great. Recently, after enjoying an amazing 'Sancocho' at another Latin restaurant in Tampa, I decided to give this place another shot, thinking it might be good closer to home. That was a mistake. The food definitely did not taste fresh. Everything on the plates was lacking freshness, and the beef was very dry and hard to chew. The only redeeming item was the Aguila (Colombian beer) michelada. I’m not sure how this place holds a 4.3 rating. I would recommend skipping the food altogether. Perhaps their pastries are better, but I have no idea.
After a 10 hour shift, all I wanted was to have a good meal to go , but I ended up so disappointed. I regret paying $18 for a little piece of thin churrasco that I asked for it to be pink, and it was like rubber, with just 3 little tostones and soggy fries. Also, $13 for a little dried piece of chicken breast with only 3 little yuca fries and bottom hard yellow rice. A total of $37.76, I should have gone somewhere else.
