**A Mixed Experience at Perrett’s: Ambiance vs. Service and Quality** Perrett's restaurant presents a tumultuous dining experience characterized by a mix of delicious offerings and disappointing service. While some patrons rave about its standout dishes like the Spicy Hula pizza and delectable calzones, others lament the steep prices paired with declining food quality, particularly undercooked pasta and disappointing portion sizes. Despite an appealing interior remodel, customer service appears inconsistent, with reports of inattentive staff and chaotic seating arrangements. Nevertheless, many still appreciate the warm ambiance and remain hopeful for improvements, hinting that Perrett's has the potential to reclaim its former glory as a top dining destination.
I treated my siblings to dinner. We each ordered a different entrée. My brother did the Perrett's Combo. My sister the Shrimp Fettuccine and I got the Spaghetti with links. We started with the homemade bruschetta. It was amazing paired with a glass of the Château Michelle Riesling. Our entrée selections were perfect. Portion sizes were generous and flavorful. My only suggestion was to cut the links into bite sizes, as cutting the whole thing in a bowl is a little cumbersome. I would like to see a salad added to the meal or a small basket of garlic bread as a starter, maybe one piece per guest as a nice welcome. We ordered dessert to go and enjoyed it later. We had a take out box for leftovers. Good atmosphere, the temperature was cool and refreshing. Server was somewhat of a newbie and seemed a little uncertain when asked about menu items, wine selection and popular local picks. She was friendly and did well otherwise. All around great experience.
Last week for dinner. Very enjoyed the look of the updated restaurant. Once we got in, it was chaotic and just chaotic. I suppose the main waitress was rude for employees and customers. The restaurant was about 75% full and she told the hostess loud enough to hear for customers There are reservations, we have no room for them! While the waitress turns out the seating position, the waitress comes back and barks at all the moats that there'll be a 40 min waiting and there was no room for her. The hostess looked mortified. There were two tables left and we were advised, it was the coldest room in the building (the kitche, It was not bad for me, but my divider was cold) We sat down and had no time to watch the menu before the main waiter requested our beverage order. I had a $2,89 iced tea that was less than memorable beside the price. I also ordered the chicken alfredo, which I made quite good at home from scratch, so let me tell you when it appeared to look all runny and granular. My meal was cold. I should have sent it back. My partner enjoyed his pasta, but he'd eat a leather jacket, so I can't say how he was. We asked for crushed red pepper and waitress turned to the table next to us and said you were not with this right? And put it on our table. There was a 10-12yr old children's bus table and he brought our neighbors to check and togo box and left it on our table where it sat for 10 min while the neighboring mosquitoes patiently continue waiting for their check. (We didn't know it was her) I ordered tiramisu to go and received a 2x3 frozen desert that was smashed on one side and WAY overpriced by $8.99. The most beautiful person in the restaurant was the sweet little hostess who deserves a better job where she is appreciated. The waitress is sure she runs away in a week. Overall, I can't imagine I'm going back. Good luck for future girls!
This is the ONLY place we got some really good food. I got the calzone it was so good. My granddaughter had the shrimp Alfredo fettuccine it was really good. The waitress needs to remember to check on her table, she would disappear. We would have ordered more to drink. I would come back to try something else. The place was very clean.
Perrets used to be one of the best places in town to eat. But with the new ownership, food quality has gone down, service likewise, but price has gone up. Even the new remodel seems...cold. It was a comfortable and friendly home town eatery before. Now it looks like a dentist or lawyer's office. Wife said it looks like a garage door showroom
