The poke was just okay. It was significantly overpriced, and the portions were quite small. They don't mix the ingredients, so be prepared to encounter clumps of wasabi. Additionally, there is limited seating available, with only three tables in the restaurant.
The food was decent if you’re a fan of fish, but I'm not really into it. Unfortunately, the rice was served cold. The wait time was reasonable, and the drinks were just alright. Overall, everything felt average.
Honestly, Ahipoki is really good, but recently I've noticed some issues with the service. There's a petite female employee who tends to be stingy with the portions. I get that extra scoops cost more, but in the past, I’ve always gotten at least two scoops when I visited. Even when the taller male staff member serves, he gives at least two scoops. However, when she serves, it’s only one scoop. It’s frustrating because their scoop sizes don’t seem to match the price, especially since you have to pay extra for a second scoop. Also, she can be a bit short-tempered if you speak quietly when ordering. My friend ordered miso soup but never received it. Still, I’m not going to stop coming because the food is just that good!
The service was good, but the prices are outrageous. I ordered two bowls with two scoops each and a fountain drink, and it totaled $35. The portions are quite small for the price, and the quality isn’t great. I’ll be sticking to my usual poke place instead.
I have visited this restaurant several times and have generally had a positive experience. However, on July 24, 2023, during a lunch visit, I encountered some issues. In my three-item bowl, the rice was very hard and nearly impossible to chew. It seemed like it was leftover from the bottom of the rice cooker, as the server had to scrape to get it. My wife ordered the semi-transparent noodles, which were also too dry and hard to chew. Unfortunately, vegetables were unavailable that day, leaving us with only rice or noodles. On the bright side, the portion sizes for the three items were generous, and the fish and accompanying beans were quite good. I hope the restaurant can improve in these areas because I would like to come back.
