Mountain River Ranch - Ririe
Mountain River Ranch
Description
Mountain River Ranch pairs immaculate restrooms, lush shaded grounds and hands-on, friendly hosts with a peaceful, scenic setting near the Tetons. Staff are praised for solving booking problems and accommodating groups, and many sites feel spacious and well cared for. Be aware of occasional site‑assignment issues: some rigs face tight spacing or inconsistent site lengths, sewer/dump access can be limited, and promised fire pits or secure power hookups aren’t always available. Overall a tranquil, well‑run park ideal for families and reunions — verify site size and utilities before arrival.

We arrived on a bustling Saturday night in June, planning to camp for a couple of nights, only to realize that we had inadvertently made our reservations for Sunday through Tuesday instead of Saturday through Monday. The staff members, who I believe were the owners or hosts, went above and beyond to help us. They drove around the property searching for a spot to accommodate our two trailers, despite the fact that the place was quite full and hosting a large reunion. Their kindness and willingness to find a solution made a big difference, and we truly appreciated their efforts. We had a wonderful time during our stay; it was peaceful and beautiful.
Mountain River Ranch RV Park was an excellent place to stay. The owners and staff were friendly and attentive. The surroundings were clean and peaceful, and the grassy areas along with the water features created a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again.
I spoke with Jack, who directed us to our current spot, to ask why we weren’t in site 62 anymore. He explained that the person who had that site changed their plans. I inquired about a few other nearby sites that were longer than 64 feet, but was told they were reserved as well. At that point, I was quite frustrated. Jack directed us to park in a way that would prevent our vehicle from protruding onto the road. Given the cooler temperatures, I looked forward to lowering the ramp and setting up our patio, but I couldn’t do that because I would be blocking the road. So, we reluctantly accepted the spot and set up camp. I had specifically made the reservation for a 45-foot fifth wheel to avoid being crammed into small spaces, yet that was exactly what happened. Interestingly, the person in our originally assigned spot was a class A motorhome. In my opinion, if he had changed his reservation, he should have moved to a smaller site instead. He left the following day, leaving us with another annoyance. Although I was not thrilled about not having sewer access—a situation I anticipated a few days before arriving—we only stayed for six nights, so I didn’t need to dump my tanks until we checked out. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this campground due to the bait-and-switch tactics we experienced. I give it 2 stars, primarily for its convenient location near the Teton mountains.
When we arrived, Jack was there to greet us—he was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He guided us to our parking spot. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the showers and restrooms were also very clean. Jack was frequently checking on the property, and Tony was there as well; both really made us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning!
The campsites were decent, but if RVs have slide-outs, there's not much space between neighboring setups. The power boxes felt somewhat insecure, and we weren't clear on the location of the dump station. We also didn’t have the fire pit that was promised, which hindered some of our plans. On a positive note, the restrooms and showers were clean. Overall, our stay was satisfactory, and the prices were reasonable compared to other campgrounds in the area.
