My friend always orders nuts, while I prefer salt and pepper squid - both dishes are delicious! We often go to this restaurant on Fridays after our clinical shifts and the waiters know us well. View all feedback.
What Alysha Cronin doesn't like about Daimo Chinese Richmond:
The Cantonese cuisine at this cafe/restaurant is quite good and reasonably priced. The quality of service can vary depending on how busy the place is. Be cautious about bringing a large group as the seating arrangements might be cramped, with some guests having to sit on stools. View all feedback.
After hearing about this place from my friend, who described it as the only option for food after a night of clubbing, I had to see if the rumors were true. It turns out my friend may have overreacted (or maybe he just doesn't like Cantonese food) because Daimos is a hidden gem that should not be overlooked. I expected them to only have basic noodle soups with vegetables and traditional yellow noodles, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide variety of dishes including dumplings, steamed fish, hot pots, and BBQ plates. I tried the BBQ pork over rice, and while it was a bit tough and not as caramelized as I usually like, it was still satisfying and filling. The service was also excellent, with the waitress serving my meal with a smile and thanking me warmly as I left. I will definitely be coming back to Daimos.
