We...laugh and talk and share memories of good and bad food and wine and whisky in both England and France and Scotland they are interested in Whisky, in both English and French. And food, and why I thought a certain dish contained a certain thing or why I didn't spot a certain thing. The vin de sauge was lovely as an apéro, not what I expected, but it's grown in.around Riberac. My sage arrived from Cheshire years ago, so not the same at all due to sun and climate and evolution. With sage from Provence or Banyuls it would have a different taste again. It's just a palette of colours, like the spices in curry, and the range of flavours you can create with so few just like red blue and yellow in effect, with white and black where needed. They are a brilliant and incredibly hard working young couple who are still looking and open to new ideas. New ways of doing things not just for the sake of it, but to serve their customers. I love cooking, when I'm in the mood. I only started cooking in at the age of have only really made strudel once. Need to practise to get it right first time! Need to move and the oven Aga rebuilt.
