I recently dined at the restaurant for a roast dinner and was disappointed. Out of the 5 people in our group, 2 thought it was just 'ok' while the other 2 adults absolutely hated it. The gravy was grey, the roast potatoes were strange, and we had difficulties convincing the chef to add a Yorkshire pudding to the roast pork, even when we offered to pay extra. WE REGULARLY USE THE BASSET, BECAUSE THE FOOD AND SERVICE IS THE BEST AROUND, ALWAYS FRIENDLY WELCOME FROM SUE AND STAFF -GOOD ATMOSPHERE TRY THEIR STEAKS AND FISH DISHES STAR.
Beautiful pub spent a lot of time in it over the last days. good eating and beer and friendly staff. next to a small stream with friendly local and entertainment this is a jewel and should not be missed by the visitors of portreath
