Was User at Thai Square a mag?
Enjoyed a delicious take out this weekend. Pineapple rice and pad Thai reminded us of our wonderful time in Thailand. It's safe to say we will be back here again soon for more yummy Thai at a great price too :) View all feedback.

Dated and old looking, but generous serving sizes and reasonable prices. Service was okay. Good enough for the area.
If you tried any decent Thai food, you’ll find this place the food are really really no standard. Also the restaurant is dark and carpet is dirty and stinks. I’ll suggest you find other Thai food around the area instead. Don’t even go try please
Food service always amazingPad **** sod my favourite
This place looks like Ron Burgundy's house, hasn't changed since the 70's. All adds to the charm, food is nice.
Do not believe in the 5 star reviews, this place is dirty and the food is VERY average. Not worth your money and time. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The food tasted ok. The fried rice was nice but the curry tasted funny and wasn't think enough. The restaurant had a 4 star health safety rating, but the food wasn't as good as expected.
Tried this Thai place twice and the reason I came back is because the laksa was so nice the first time around and very reasonable price here too. Having the pad Thai today just with pork, but I will I will go for the seafood...next time so it's a bit more variety in the dish! Good quality lunch tho and cooked fresh.
Even if it looks like just a takeaway shop, this place serves some of the best Thai food I have tasted one because, and they can sit down to eat it when they want. I had the crispy chicken with chili and cashew. nüsse, it was delicious spicy, fresh and tender. my friends had two of the grilled dishes in a green curry and the other one in a tamarinden sweet acid sauce....both reported ‘yummy’ obviously a popular take away place for natives. If I'm next in redfern, I will stop for some more!
Really enjoy eating here, although we tend to eat our regulars, dimme sims (fried or damped), huh with cashew nuts, yellow chicken curry. friendly staff.
Eat them indirectly best service poor as for thai, some basic clamps not present. sat by local reviews and had to double check, it was the same I had read about. I wanted to have an incentive to do business, but in many Thai sites, it won't even make my lists.

Ordered the chicken wings, curry Puffs and papaya salad with soft shelled crab. It was really delicious. Good service too.
Cashew nut chicken and hokkien noodles were very tasty and good portion size too. Great service. Would recommend
Went here for my birthday with a friend. Cosy on a cold Sydney winter night. Immediate service, and quick serving of entrees and mains which I like. Excellent friendly servce delivered with a smile All the food was delicious especially the red curry! One of the best value and cosy Thais in Sydney. Will definitely be back:
Combo meals are great value. service is quick eat in or take out. food is delicious.
Thai Square is one of a handful of Thai restaurants I order from at work. Have had some excellent Pad Kee Mao dishes in the past. <br/ <br/ Decided to go a bit fancy recently, and get the Prik Khing Moo Grob. Stir Fried Crispy Pork Belly with green beans, and chilli paste. Very nice, however a lot more green beans than was anticipating and not many other vegetables in the dish. Pork was very nice and tender. Obviously having travelled from the restaurant to the office the pork was no longer crispy but it was still very nice. <br/ <br/ Also got the dim sims. They were nicely flavoured, but you're looking at $1.50 for 6 bit sized dim sims. Seems a bit much. $1 dim sims should be a legal requirement.<br/ <br/ Would order it again if I were to eat in store, but given the outrageous amount of beans for the cost of the dish it was a bit overpriced IMO. Will probably stick to the standard Thai street food meals in the future if I am to order from here again.

I have been living in Redfern for 7 years and come here often. The food is pretty amazing for the price, the décor I love but it isn't for everyone. The place hasn't had a renovation in 30 years but it somehow just works. The food is great, I have never had a bad experience unlike some of the rude bloggers that have posted to this site. Its clean and is a staple of the uniqueness of Redfern.
Not particularly tasty Thai food. Had the usually flavourful red curry and it didn't taste of anything. Friend had cashew nut tofu and that also did not have any flavour. Wouldn't recommend in the city full of good Thai.
Firstly, it's pretty safe for you to ignore the review making mention of the cockroach. If you read the posters 2 other reviews, miraculously they discovered steel wool and a freezer bag in their meals at other establishments. You will not find cockroaches in your food at Pronprohm. I have been here several times without any unwanted surprises and it is annoying such reviews can affect a restaurants reputation. Now onto Pronprohm itself. Pronprohm will not win any awards for contemporary decor but it would take the gold medal if you want a flash back to the early 80's. Head upstairs from the outside blackboard and encounter a restaurant that clearly hasn't changed it's look since the day it opened. Before you head up though, be sure to check out the blackboard outside because some of the best dishes aren't on the regular menu. Try the Betel leaves for an entree and also ask the the waitress if they are able to make the green papaya salad for main. The Betel leaves are a great appetiser and palate cleanser before the curries and spices. If you go for the papaya salad, be sure to ask for mild if you don't like too much heat. The chilli on this dish can be a bit spicy. Order a drink and it is usually accompanied by a small dish of salted peanuts. Orders are taken promptly and the staff are helpful and friendly. Beer and wine available at reasonable prices. The house wine is drinkable but may be better to BYO wine. Food is served quickly and portions are always generous. If you are deciding between the Grilled Beef or Lamb under the Chef's Special option, I would recommend the lamb. It is always more tender and less fatty. The dish is cooked as requested. Medium rare is medium rare. The Roasted Duck Red Curry and Tasmanian Ocean Trout are well worth a try. Ask for spice heat preference, mild to hot. The same applies to most dishes here. If you're ravenous coming here, try the Mee Grob for entree. it is a substantial entree and very tasty! Pronprohm also do the usual Thai fare of green and red curries, Pad Thais and salads with flavours of fresh mint, chilli and lemongrass. The site is showing payment as cash only but eftpos is now available for a 50c fee. Also, if they're not offered on payment, ask for the orange chocolates as you leave. A nice way to end what should be an insect free, pleasant meal.
Also ate here last week and discovered a cockroach floating in my Tom Yum soup! I nearly died when i almost swallowed it! Took it back, as it was take away, and they apologised, as Thais are always being so polite n all, and offered me another one, but I declined, as I didn't want to risk finding a new critter in another order! These places really need a health hygienist to inspect their standards regularly! Totally put off Thai for a while now!

As for the food, Pron Prohm may not be considered top-tier by Sydney's Thai restaurant standards, but we have always been pleased with our meals there, particularly when ordering the specials. While you shouldn't expect culinary miracles, the restaurant offers a satisfying dining experience. Pron Prohm is always quiet, tables are easy to come by, and sitting near the windows allows for a pleasant view of Redfern Street.
The restaurant has a familiar cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of a distant uncle's recroom basement with faded red carpet. The service was mediocre, as we felt like we were bothering our server who was busy sorting silverware. However, despite this, the food was exceptional and served promptly. The curries were flavorful and generously portioned. The desserts, including black rice pudding and banana fritters, were delightful. The prices were very reasonable. If you're looking for delicious Thai food and don't mind the lackluster atmosphere, give this place a try!
If you are familiar with the movie Muriel's Wedding, then the line 'Deirdre Chambers, what a coincidence' will give you a good idea of the decor at Pron Prohm. It's like stepping back in time to 1979, and I hope they never modernize it to match the trendy styles of Oxford St. Pron Prohm is incredibly cool. The food is what you would expect from a no-frills, affordable Thai restaurant, but it is done well and served by friendly staff. I highly recommend anyone visiting Redfern (and locals who are already fans) to eat here.

The food here is exceptional, traditional Thai taste with absolutely no MSG. The trout curry is outstanding.

This place is incredible. It's so uncool that it's possibly one of the coolest restaurants in Sydney. So refreshing
Doesn't look (or smell) very appealing at all...but they have some of the best thai curries I've had. Really flavorful and delicious. Wasn't appealing to dine-in but $7 for lunch takeaway anyway!
