We had been big fans of Cle... read more My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner before a show in Redding, and it crossed our minds to try The Shack Social. We had been big fans of Clearie's but had not tried the new restaurant. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The environment had changed somewhat from the time it was Clearie's, but it still had an inviting, upscale feel. The hostess was very friendly and efficient, the service was wonderful, and most importantly, the food was fabulous. My husband got the pappardelle with skirt steak, and it was amazing. The steak had a Korean BBQ flavor and the pasta seemed to be hand-made. I had the scampi, which was perfectly cooked with two kinds of flavorful sauce--a tomato cream and a garlic butter. We had the calamari appetizer. We will definitely be back. It was the perfect date night spot.

When I got there, they were not open. There was a truck and a Harley Davidson in the parking lot but they would not answer the door. I called and their message machine came on saying they were open from 3 to 9. My reservation was at 4. Very Disappointed. I really wanted to try this place.

They made every effort to make sure everyone was... read more We made reservations on-line for Valentines day. The on-line reservation company over booked The Shack Social. They made every effort to make sure everyone was served in a timely fashion. The food was amazing and the cocktails were top notch. I'd highly recommend this dining experience.
