I will never give a false review because it is unfair to any establishment. Therefore, I will continue to say, it is still one of the best for fish and chips but........PLEASE get your act together when placing people to serve the public behind your counter. What a rude, disrespectful encounter I had with one of your staff recently. It is evident that this person needs to be taught to treat ALL who walk into your place and are paying customers, with the same level of courtesy and respect! That unpleasant encounter has put me off from visiting again. Do BETTER! Note that my rating of TERRIBLE therefore is in no way related to the food!

The owner suggested I should have returned t... read more This restaurant served awful oily, mushy chips and a dry, bland piece of cod. Half of the cod was eaten by pigeons. The owner suggested I should have returned the dish, which I probably should have done. However, after trying a few bites of the extremely greasy food, I had no desire to eat it again. The chips were crumbling apart and the cod was drier than a pair of desert flip flops.

W... read more Bought a med cod and large chips tonight. Absolutely disgusting the chips were so oily they broke as you picked them up and the cod was dry and totally bland. What's up with that batter as well no flavour what so ever. I haven't been there in years but I was in the area so thought I have cod n chips but never again from there I won't ever be returning. What happened to the good quality where has it gone? Chips should not be that oily you feel like you've drank a bottle of crisp n dry after eating less than a 1/3 of an portion and chips should not break apart and be that mushy either. Honestly such a shame the standards have dropped that low. I've taken a picture but I'm unable to upload it. Won't recommend and will not return again. Sorry but it really was that bad. Thanks for reply but after that amount of oil and the terrible cod what's the point in bringing it back. That's what quality control is about ensuring the food is of a good standard. It wasn't like the shop was busy. Also you stated the new potatoes hold a bit of oil this wasn't a bit of oil they were saturated in oil.
