However , today we saw on the menu that they charge gratuity on split checks! They don’t give you your bill at the table but send you to the register to pay whatever amount they say. If you ask for a receipt, it’s just the grand total. Just feel it’s a good scam. Won’t be going back.

It is a blip in the road for us and next time we'll try another establis... read more With so many options for dining in Red River, we chose Old Tymers Cafe during our stop. It is a blip in the road for us and next time we'll try another establishment. The wait staff didn't seem like they wanted to work, so sorry life is tough isn't it. This seems to be a problem everywhere we travel. Restaurants can't find enough people willing to work with a smile. There was one of 3 waitresses whom we wish we had, she knew how to do it, but the other two were may I say in a bad mood. The food was OK, nothing to go back for but it was fine. In today's culture plus our run away inflation, we all have to be smart about where we spend our money. My only hope is that the manager and/or owner wasn't working while we were there. If they were, shame on them.
