Carvella Cafe - Red Deer

The place to go! The finest homemade foods! The service is impeccable! A very warm and interesting environment where you can wine, dine and shop! My absolute favourite place! Congrats to the owners and staff....you rock!

Very disappointed with a visit to Carvella on the weekend. Had reservations. There was sanitizer at the door, till and other locations. However, the little restaurant was completely packed with customers. No distance between tables, it was no different from previous visits before the virus. I just hope there will be no health issues that arise from our visit. Have enjoyed many previous visits, but will definitely think twice, before going back.

We are visiting from Arizona for the Christmas season with family from Red Deer. 7 of us had THE best meal. The BBQ Beef ribs were fall off the bone tender. Beef dip was excellent. Caesar salad with chicken was awesome. Desserts were fabulous especially the cheesecake. The cafe is clean and the gift items are wonderful. We will certainly visit again on our next visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Anyone who knows Benalto will be smiling. This place is 5 star. The staff the owners the food is all great. The building is new and decorated in away that your lady will love it. Don't skip the home made pie either.

We had reservations to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. We arrived and our other family member was already seated. There were 4 of us total. The only waitress took over 10 minutes to even acknowledge 3 more people joined the table to offer water. The special of the night is Prime Rib and that’s the reason we booked as the Birthday boy loves prime rib. There were 4 other tables, one large and extremely loud table of 8 seated next to us and then another loud table of 4 on the other side of us. All in total there were 5 tables. It took over 15 mins to take our order, water glasses sat empty. The only entree you can order on Friday nights is Prime rib. Everyone with exception of the 2 children and one Caesar salad had the Prime rib. The PLASTIC plate , yes I said PLASTIC, consisted of a very fatty cold slab of RARE prime rib, a baked potato in foil, carrots, beans and a dry Yorkshire pudding. 3 of us ordered medium and one well done. Everyone’s prime rib was cold but sending it back wasn’t an option as it took so long to get the meal the restaurant would have been closing before getting it back. I can honestly say that coming from the service industry years ago that it was the worst service and meal that I can recall in many years. The waitress never returned at any point during the meal to enquire how everything was. I think it was pretty evident when all the plates were less than half eaten and we asked for to go containers. Even while paying the bill she didn’t ask how everything was. Very, very disappointed and would not recommend this out of the way spot when there are so many other places to spend your money on a decent HOT meal. Again the only offering is Prime rib and there were only 5 tables. Not like there was much to do when putting this meal together. They need to hire another waitress as I’d hate to see what the service was like if the restaurant was full.
