Feedback
The Spring Inn has received mixed reviews from customers lately, with some praising the friendly staff and excellent service, while others have criticized the food quality and portion sizes, as well as the lacklustre service. Despite some disappointing experiences, others have enjoyed the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere at this quaint pub. The staff have been commended for their attentiveness, although some customers have suggested the implementation of additional safety measures. Overall, The Spring Inn appears to be a cozy spot for a casual meal or a family gathering, with room for improvement in certain areas.
Disappointing. Had lunch here today with family. Service was OK but the food compared to other visits was remarkably underwhelming. Burgers looked OK and apparently were OK but the Beer Battered fish was dreadful. I was expecting a nice chunky piece of fish with a crispy beer batter instead what I got was something similar to what I would pick up from the freezer cabinet at the local supermarket to stick in the oven. This is a shame as last year we had a big family celebration at the Spring Inn and the food was superb with many of the guests complementing us on our choice of venue. Don’t know what’s gone wrong but they need to pull their socks up otherwise I fear it’s a slippery slope for this establishment.
The best Sunday roast I have ever had! The beef was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be going again.
Our daughter booked the table after having a stunning meal there two years ago. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived. We asked for still water not spring I expected tap water as the water arrived in a glass bottle yetcost £4.25 . I asked for a white wine spritzer with Chardonnay I was given a large Chardonnay took it to the bar and was told no one told him to put soda in cost £9.25….the service was poor all round. The food was nothing special my sea bass was over cooked as were the vegetables, my husbands fish and chips were average my daughters beef pie was delicious. As a food teacher and hospitality tutor in New Zealand I was really disappointed by the service, the food and felt it was overpriced plus the 10% service charge made the bill ridiculous. We will not come again or bring groups here.
