Feedback
Reviews praise Creams Cafe's inventive desserts and variety, but note mixed service experiences and occasional waits during busy times.
I have visited Creams Reading twice now and had a fantastic experience both times. I have also been to other branches, but the service and food at Creams Reading surpass them all. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The service is incredibly fast, with the staff even apologizing for a short wait of about 5 minutes, which was surprising compared to waiting over 30 minutes at other branches, even when they were not busy. I will only be coming to Creams Reading for my dessert fix from now on, and would definitely recommend it over other branches to anyone looking for a delicious treat.
Food was ok but some of the service was TERRIBLE!! I asked for a Banana Scoff Crepe and was served a Nutty Banoffee waffle. Upon raising this with the waitress she point blank argued I didn’t specify I wanted a vegan crepe and simply asked for “a banana one” ?! She also claimed she wasn’t looking at me when I ordered so didn’t see me point to it on the menu. I tried explaining there is no other item on the menu called a Banoffee Scoff Crepe which is what I asked for, being vegan I’m always super careful with what I order and that maybe she should have been paying more attention. She stormed off saying she’d speak to her manager, but that it was my fault and they may not be able to do anything about it. Eventually she returned with the correct order, which she slammed on the table and walked away saying nothing. Another server we had was perfectly lovely and we enjoyed our food. We were just massively disappointed with the awful experience and service we received from our main server. Food wise, my friend enjoyed her waffle although I have definitely seen better looked a bit like quantity over quality. My crepe was actually really nice. Just a shame about the sour service, be warned!
It was alright. The workers need to speak louder. Food should be nice. Shame I couldn't hear enough to order properly.
They have a wide range of flavours. My favourite was bubblegum icecream. Inside the shop is a bit dark, that maybe their theme. Kids might get scared.
As a food hygienist, it was disturbing to see my food being handled without any protective hygiene equipment. The workers were not wearing gloves or aprons, and I did not see anyone washing their hands. I spoke to the manager, a vocal Latina woman, about my concerns. She continued to touch her hair, rub her eyes, and prepare food without wearing a hairnet. The male workers were also handling food with bare hands and not following proper hygiene practices. The Latina girl mentioned that the owner did not require them to wear gloves or hairnets, only to wash their hands, but this did not happen. I recorded this conversation to report to the Reading Council. Strong measures need to be taken immediately. I will not be dining here again and urge the restaurant to prioritize food safety for the public's health. - Atif.

If you want your party’s desserts to arrive together, the quickest workaround is to place orders back-to-back at the counter and ask staff explicitly to ‘serve together’ — many guests find a brief request improves timing.
