Description

Tucked off the main strip, this family-run spot delivers hearty, homemade American and Italian-leaning plates — think crab-stuffed mushrooms, house pasta and inventive twists on classics — at fair midrange prices. The atmosphere is cozy, old-school and bar-adjacent, with friendly, familiar service; expect fresh ingredients and generous olive oil. Service can be leisurely and the decor a bit dated, but the value and memorable flavors keep locals and groups coming back.

We celebrated a 40th birthday last night with a group of eight, and we had an amazing time. We ordered seven different appetizers, and each one was fantastic. The entrees were just as delicious. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. Thank you so much!

The cook on the protein was exceptional! The breads were tasty, however the hamburger bun would be a 3/5 compared to the vinegar/oil/spice dip bread provided which was a 5/5 easily. The bun was just generic and, in my opinion, store bought off of a shelf, in a bag. Veg was overall undercooked, but not inedible. She ordered a special clam/mussel app: 5/5 cooked perfectly, tasty broth, cleaned well. I ordered a half size order of wings, Hot: 4.5/5 I expected a buffalo style sauce, received a luscious buffalo/barbecue sauce that was perfectly balanced and did have a decent amount of heat (I have a high spice tolerance) and subtle sweetness. The cook on the wings was great: juicy and crispy without a terribly unhealthy coating. No ranch or B.C. though. Literally wings and sauce, but a lot of sauce. The half serving was perfect at two flats and two meaty drums. Little salads were fresh and simple. Ranch was bomb! Filet w/ mashed potatoes, mushrooms, sautéed greens (beans, asparagus, and fiddleheads), and sweet peas (not in a pod): Steak was a perfect medium-rare. Mushrooms are tender and lovely. Potatoes were delicious and slightly textured. The greens dish was a little undercooked/crunchier than it should have been for our taste. Flavor was good. First time having fiddleheads... like asparagus without the funkiness... IYKYK Burger with garlic mustard, sautéed onions, and charred green onion with fries: LITERALLY THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFE! Outside was charred and looking possibly overcooked... Cut into it and I was just so wrong. Crusty on the outer layer, juicy and tender inside. Evenly cooked. Possibly sous vide? French fries are a let down. Half were fried crispy on the outside edges but raw inside, half were not crispy at all and were greasy. Sounds like issues with oil temp and cook time. I prefer thicker cut fries in general but there were technical errors overall with the veg tonight

It's OK. You are told to make a reservation and when you arrive there are no other patrons in the dining room. A few at the bar. Food was OK, service ok. So nothing great here. We had this on our list to visit for awhile and it was just ok.

I 've been here several times, but mostly on burger night. One time I had chicken marsala which was good.Mostly I just get burgers on Wednesday night burger night. The beef is really good, the rolls are great, and they have good, somewhat original, toppings. The fries have been thin crispy shoestring fries. Excellent.Service has been good sitting at the bar. Some desserts are made in-house, like the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing... ice-en-ing for all you Berks hicksMy favorite part of this place is that it 's old-school in the best ways. Dark, wood bar. Quiet. No asinine TVs with sports that no one is watching. If you want that, go somewhere else.Bearded hipster millennials haven 't ruined this place which makes this a true hidden gem.

Very old school type restaurant. Definitely haunted type. The food tasted good and home made. The prices are mid range which is decent. The service was slow but it has that kind of vibe so it tracks. I would honestly probably be back to try different things. Everything was cooked well and the food itself tasted good quality. All in all I would recommend this place to people who want a cosy quiet meal with those classic american ingredients and flavors. I saw some complaints about them not answering emails and... I'm not surprised. We came on a Thursday night and not much is happening so probably just stop on by. We brought our baby who got bored since the food took a while to come and our bill took a while to come too so leave the little ones at home if they can't sit. Edit: taking away one star bc she lost my credit card but then found it 30 minutes later ?
