For a place that’s considered a step above typical fast food, Panera Bread at Broadcasting frequently makes mistakes. My wife loves their food, but about 75% of the time, items are missing from her order. They often forget the French baguette or substitute it without any notice if it's out of stock. Recently, we had bagels delivered to work and they forgot to include the cream cheese. One thing I find puzzling is that the receipt has a section labeled "order checked by," but it’s never signed off. Maybe if they started using that part properly, their service would improve.
This place shows a serious lack of care and cleanliness. I occasionally stop by for lunch, and it’s clear the drink fountains haven’t been cleaned in weeks, still covered with old residue. I placed an order to be picked up at a specific time, but when I collected it, my mac and cheese was cold, overly soupy, and only half full (see photo below). It was obvious it had been sitting out for over 10 minutes. Perhaps the staff need to improve their reading skills, as the requested pickup time was clearly printed on the ticket.
Panera has always been one of my favorites, but this visit was quite disappointing. I ordered a large broccoli mac and cheese, a mango lemonade, and a bear claw. After placing my order at the counter, I easily found a clean booth to sit at. My food arrived in about fifteen minutes, which was prompt. However, the large broccoli mac and cheese I received was far from large for the price paid. It was overcooked and mushy, not served hot, and certainly didn’t taste fresh. The bread on the side was also cold and just mediocre. On a positive note, the lemonade was quite good; it wasn’t overly sweet and had a nice fruit flavor. The bear claw, too, was enjoyable and not overly dry. Overall, it was just an average experience, but perhaps other locations might do better.
Terrible experience. I've been a regular at this restaurant for many years, but the last two have been disappointing to say the least. My recent order for takeout French Onion Soup, priced at $7.19, was a letdown. It came in a container that was barely half full, lacking both cheese and croutons, and there was no spoon included. When I called to address the issue, I was refunded but not offered a replacement. The woman I spoke with seemed eager to end the conversation rather than assist me. This situation is truly unacceptable on multiple levels. It’s frustrating to see such a decline in quality. Take some pride in your work; there’s only so much you can attribute to the pandemic. How difficult is it to properly ladle the right amount of soup into a container and add cheese and croutons?
I really enjoy your food and I appreciate how easy it is to order during work hours. However, during my last few orders, I've noticed that my sandwiches seem to have very little filling. For example, the Napa Chicken Salad sandwich on Tomato Basil bread costs $10.61 (which with tax and the delivery fee comes to about $15), but I barely received a tablespoon of chicken salad on it. It's quite disappointing, especially since I had more pickle than chicken salad. At least my order was correct this time!
