The food was just mediocre and arrived at a lukewa... read more I received a strong recommendation to try this restaurant from a friend, but I ended up feeling disappointed. The food was just mediocre and arrived at a lukewarm temperature. I ordered my eggs cooked over medium, but they came out less than over easy. We waited for nearly 30 minutes before a server finally approached our table to take our order, and for a side of toast, we received just one slice. There are other diners, with half the charm of this old building, that offer much more satisfying meals for your money. I would suggest choosing one of those instead and saving your cash. Perhaps they might perform better at lunch or dinner, but after such a poor breakfast experience, I’m unlikely to give them another chance.

On this visit, we tried the B2 Bang Bang Shrimp, my wife had the Seafood Mac n Cheese, and I opted for the Cajun Shrimp Bowl. All of these dishes were new to us. The quality of the food was excellent, as it always is. The only reason I’m deducting a star from the food rating is because my meal portion was a bit smaller than I anticipated, especially considering it was listed under the “large plate” section of the menu. However, this won't deter us from returning.

The presentation was 5 s... read more We stopped by for an early dinner. Sadly the patio area was completely full. Tried the Hawaii roll as an appetizer, and it was amazing! The presentation was 5 stars, and it tasted even better. My husband tried the lamb burger...it was like a gyro, but a burger. It was pretty good. I had the dry aged burger with mushrooms and highly recommend it!Our waitress was nice, but very quiet and did not engage (not an issue, but it was noticeable). We'll be back to try the brunch and coffee bar for sure!

I started planning my event in November 2021 for October 2022, wanting to ensure everything would run smoothly with both the venue and the 12 bridesmaids I was coordinating with. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but smooth after dealing with about five different managers. I had selected my menu not once, not twice, but three times! While I understand that menus can change due to seasons or demand, that wasn’t the reason for these changes. The first two times my choices were misplaced, and the final time I was informed of changes at 1:15 pm on the day of the event, which started at 3:30 pm! The cook told me some of my selections were no longer available and that I had to choose alternatives. Why wasn’t this communicated earlier, especially since I had finalized details just two weeks prior? To make matters worse, the chef ignored the clearly noted nut allergy and included nuts on the cheeseboard. Additionally, I was told the Squawk Café would close to the public at 1 pm to prepare for the event, but guests were still being admitted when I arrived shortly after 1 pm with my car full of decorations. Apparently, this wasn’t communicated to the management team working that morning. Another important request, to have my cousin included in the party—a request I made at the very first meeting and several times after—was also overlooked. I was repeatedly assured it would be fine, but my cousin had no idea the event was happening until I arrived looking for him. There are more issues I could mention, but I’ll leave it at that. Special thanks to our servers, Bailey and Amber, who were the bright spots in an otherwise frustrating experience.

Our server was very friendly, though a bit more attentiveness with refilling our drinks during the meal would have been appreciated—that was the only downside. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We decided to order a pizza last minute, and I even got to watch it being prepared. Pete was incredibly welcoming, patiently answering all my questions and later checking in at our table to ensure everything was perfect. It certainly was. While a bit on the expensive side, the quality of the food and the ambiance make it well worth it.
