Ria Sari is a nostalgic gem in Sydney, reminiscent of old-fashioned hole-in-the-wall eateries that transport diners to another place and time. Despite mixed reviews on the food quality and service, Ria Sari offers a taste of Indonesia with a variety of dishes including nasi goreng, sambal, and Ayam sambel. The restaurant has been a favorite among locals and UNSW students for its affordable prices and home-cooked style meals. With a friendly atmosphere and a range of traditional Indonesian dishes like Nasi Uduk and Gado-Gado, Ria Sari is a must-visit for those seeking authentic Indonesian cuisine in a casual setting.

Was LIDYA at Ria Sari a mag?
This restaurant has been around for years. It is one of our to-go restaurant and we have been happy with their food. I tried their 3-choices meal with rice. Love it especially the corn fritters. If corn fritters are finished, it seems something is 'missing ' from my 3-choice meal. I also have tried their food as per the menu on the restaurant wall such as Bihun Goreng, Nasi Uduk, Nasi Tim, Gado-Gado, Kwetiauw Siram.... View all feedback.

What Bessie Boyer dislikes about Ria Sari:
this grungous place with a small nasi campur selection looks directly from Indonesia. no rendang, so I have some fish that overcooked, but ok with an impressive sambal, and a few veg dishes with little taste or interest it seemed a good veg selection, but I think at least one of my veg dishes had some random pieces meat that are common in Indonesia, but can deceive the vegetarian. it is cheaper than the good places a... This restaurant has been nearby for years. It is one of our to-go restaurant and we were satisfied with her food. I tried her 3-choice meal with rice. Above all, love the corn grilles. When corn kernels are finished, it seems something "missing" from my 3-choice meal. I also tried her food after the menu on the restaurant wall like Bihun Goreng, Nasi Uduk, Nasi Tim, Gado-Gado, Kwetauw Siram. Highly recommended people who try to try if they are in Ria Sari. Do not forget to try your avocado juice. This is a family business, and you will find the restaurant owners normally line behind the hot bar, and they are very friendly.

I first went here back in the late 80's and early 90's as UNSW student - it was one of the best spicy feeds you could get at 3 bucks. Now it is 7 bucks, but still amazingly good - the place is totally unchanged and the same people own it still!

I know the owners who were my customers. They came to the store I worked in my previous job. My uncle and auntie said that the food was yum, however the restaurant sold Singapore food at that time in 1986. I went to buy take away from them since I left my previous job. I felt comfortable to eat there as it had casual environment.

I love how simple and tasty their food is. The stand out for me are ayam sambel, opor ayam, and their giblets and beans. It's a great home-cooked style food that will make you miss home!
