You know when people say "don't judge a book from its cover"? Well, Java might not be a classy restaurant, and not even very good looking, but the food experience is phenomenal! The menu is an endless list of dishes, I tried so many times to concentrate and read it, but I gave up. Instead with a party of ten people we ordered at least a dozen of them to share, and seriously every one was heavenly. From the fish cooked in banana leaves, to the grilled eggplant, then the beef rand-something, and the mixed fried seafood... well, I will never be able to remember the names of what we had, but we all have been amazed from what this talented Indonesian lady was cooking for us.Joe has been very nice and helpful, and very patient when it took us a while to decide what to get. Simple service but quick, efficient and lovely.We spent just 30 bucks each including a well deserved good tip. Unbeatable value!I'll get back there asap.Extremely recommended.

This is a simple BYO, cafe style restaurant. But the food and service was excellent. Luckily we went with great friends who have been here many times before so they ordered the food and we just shared everything. The satay and the fresh fish in the banana leaf were wonderful. We look forward to coming back here again soon.

Been here with my parents who are from Indonesia and they loved it! Great satay kambing, egg plant and ikan pepes.

Managed to get in without a reservation but would recommend you book as it is quite small and seems very popular, I know why. The food was really delicious. Would have eaten there again if we'd had the time.

Went here just yesterday, it was very busy, but the service was quite quick and excellent service as well :)We ordered otak-otak and martabak as entree, omg they're sooo yummy!! Exactly the same taste as in indo!! So i had to order more for take away!! Lol!! For main course, we ordered chicken crispy w/ sambal kalasan, empal goreng w/ sambal terasi and cah kangkung, they're all amazing!Definitely will return to this place again, although we gotta drive almost an hour from northern beaches lol!!!*Note for the owner: maybe they could use a bright restaurant sign in the front, coz yesterday we almost walked pass it!!
