Duke's Lounge in Randwick offers a beautiful and welcoming setting for a meal, with a lovely inside restaurant and friendly staff. While the lack of music may be a downside for some, the atmosphere is still enjoyable. The food, while not exceptional, is of good value and the staff is attentive and accommodating. I came here craving for the bacon and egg, but when I tried their Bangkok brekkie, I was blown away. It was a flavourful soupy rice dish, perfect for winter nights. Can't go wrong if you love chicken and coriander flavours. Would recommend getting the egg with it. It's always good to see a cafe trying something new and succeeding immensely.
Had brunch there last weekend, liked my omelette and masala chai; DH liked his eggs benedict and iced chocolate, happy with the quality and quantity of food, will return to try other items on their menu.
This great home like cafe is really great for a coffee and a meal. The service is friendly and quick. Their menu is quite extensive for a small cafe, and the owner Duke, is a very friendly guy, hes always up for a chat
Yummy food try the vietnamese chicken ball soup (can't remember it's name!! for an egg alternative and healthy breaky! Great coffee too. Have visited often, I enjoy it's quirkyness!
Went here for a late brekkie/ brunch on Easter Sunday as it was one of the few places open and was pleasantly surprised. The regular cafe items (BLT, fresh juices, salads) were all good. There are also some hidden treasures in the menu- like the Bangkok Breakfast (chicken meatball soup with rice in it) which was morish and filling and perfect for my Asian palate. The service was relaxed- with some lovely Thai grandmas on the case, but who is in such a rush on a Sunday morning anyway?
