Description

Despite some unfortunate weather and a couple of missing menu items, the restaurant offers incredible food with favorites like pad thai and pad kee mao. The fish ball curry with apple-eggplants is described as delicious, and the ambiance brings a taste of Chinatown despite the dull street setting. While it can get busy and noisy, the service is friendly and efficient. The wait time for takeaways can be over an hour, but loyal customers still believe it's the best Thai restaurant in Randwick, especially praising dishes like chili basil pork belly. Whether dining in or getting takeout, the restaurant is known for its flavorful and satisfying meals.

Small set up, but surprisingly a decently sized menu. The menu has a wide variety of different traditional dishes, which are reasonably priced. The food is fresh, delicious and comes out relatively quickly. Would definitely check this place out again!

I am officially a fan of chat thai now... They never disappoint! Awesome food... Freaking yummilious.. This was the third outlet I have tried and the service and food both were amazing!

Unfortunately the two times I have been here, it has rained... heavily. Both times the lychee ice drink wasn't available. It's okay. The food here is still incredible literally enjoy everything. For the safest options the pad thai and pad kee mao are sure fire hits. I also enjoyed the fish ball curry which had little apple eggplants. Just plain delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant is quite similar to the main restaurant in chinatown, but I think the dull randwick street sort of kills it. It doesn't quite have the same charm. Coming here for a midweek, affordable and downright delicious meal thought is totally worth it. Plenty of people were taking take out which I completely understand too. The service is friendly, and timely, which is great :

We were there for dinner and i decided to try different branch of chat thai. Their curry whole snapper was a bangers! Creamy, delicious with pack of herbs punches and not overpowering. We also try the same dishes on different branch but the randwick one tastes better

You can't go wrong with Chat Thai if you're after authentic Thai food; I'm constantly in awe of their ability to maintain high standards at all their outlets despite their rapid expansion.  The owner Amy, with whom I've crossed paths thanks to our participation at many, many Hyde Park Night Noodle Markets, is inspiring in her ability to innovate and stay relevant after all these years on the Sydney dining scene.
