Despite mixed experiences, with some diners facing issues like cold food, poor service, and overcharging, others have praised the tasty food, good service, and reasonable prices. The restaurant's atmosphere ranged from disappointment at a last-minute switch to the hotel bar, to an enjoyable evening out with attentive staff. Although service could be slow and some complaints were noted, overall, it seems like a hit-and-miss experience depending on the day. The effort to adhere to current restrictions was appreciated, but issues like slow service and overcharging seemed to have marred the experience for some diners.

Really great food. Very friendly and welcoming people with great sense of humour. We sat outside looking over the harbour, it was lovely

Lovely food. We didn’t get seated In the actual restaurant but we’re still happy with our window seat in the bar area

Food was decent. We were sat in a corner which wasn’t the best. Service was average—we asked for spoon for the kids beans—never came and asked for the bill from different waiters before finally getting the bill minutes later

We were looking around for a restaurant with fish on their menu, not fried! We looked at the restaurant menu online and it appeared very suitable, so booked a table. We ate dinner on a Friday night and were quite surprised that we were the only diners in there. We were given the menu and our drinks order was taken. There is a second specials menu, which was a very reasonably priced vegetarian menu. We ordered the tuna £14), monkfish with prawns and parma ham £17.50) and rack of lamb £17.50). We were impressed with the presentation and also the fact that we received plenty of fresh vegetables, often small servings in other establishments. All were cooked to perfection. Each one of us said what very good, tasty food it was, the best we have had for a long while. We could not resist the desserts, priced at £4. We had the lemon and lime cheesecake and summer fruit creme brullee. My husband chose the cheese board at £6.50. He commented that it was the best one he had in 6 years! I have to say the quality, price and service we really could not understand why the restaurant wasn 't full! It also has a nice view, overlooking Ramsgate harbour. Go along , you won 't be disappointed!!

Given the reviews we were expecting a pleasant meal but it would we were either in a different restaurant or the chef had a hangover. Our starters of lobster thermidor (the lobster inners had not been removed, very unappetising) were bland and the beef kofta was mediocre. The main courses of gammon roast had the dryest meat we had ever been given , it appeared to have been left over from lunch service. It seemed to be a common theme as the minted lamb burger was also dry. The vegatables were good but less so the potatoes. We didn't bother with dessert. Beer on tap was good but poor selection of wine. Even though we complained about the food nothing was done. There is really no excuse for poor quality food. The lovely young staff deserve to be supported by better output from kitchen. We won't go back
