What a find this place is! It's absolutely gorgeous like stepping back in time to another era with the service, food and value of today. It's definitely a highlight of our trip to QUORN. The food is to die for - they sell cream buns that have to be seen to believe! All the food and drinks here were fantastic and delicious. They have retained many period features including an overhead money transfer system of olden ti... View all feedback.
After gazing at the displays in the front windows, we entered a bygone era. This beautifully preserved building, interior and decor is an absolute delight. Add to this all the beautiful homemade buns, cakes etc and you really need to take your time. Had a delicious toastie (big enough for sharing!!) and coffee and then spent another hour just browsing through all the wonderful antique and retro homewares, many for sale. Don't think dusty and musty.....Everything was sparkling and the various displays just recently changed. The passion with which this has all been put together is a testament to the young lady concerned.Coming soon, accommodation next door to the store. We were there for brunch however, breakfast through to dinner available. All on one level, there was plenty of space between tables for pushers or wheelchairs.Well worth the visit.
This is set in an old emporium with the cashier's cubicle still there with the old money holders and the wires they ran on still there. Old china, bottles etc around the walls, the old pillars with mirrors on them - all still intact and making a great atmosphere. We were there on a Sunday and people had booked for the roast dinner which looked very good. We had Cornish Pasties and they were really good - just the same as we have had in Cornwall! Home made biscuits also! Everything is made on the premises.
Stopped here for coffee and breakfast on the way to Flinders ranges. Wasn't sure we were in the right place from the 50s fashion in the window but well worth the visit and gives a good insight into the local history. Lovely inside, like stepping back in time. Bread with breakfast was so good we bought some to take with us.
I recently stopped for a cuppacino en route to Wilpena Pound and it was one of the best I must say. After that and a short wander around I thought it is nearly Lunchtime lets see what Pies they have. I ordered a Potato Pie for the price of a mere $5. It turns out you need a knife and fork and a plate and serviette so substantial is the serving. This is one very obvious thing that only exists in the country and you need to get out of the city to find it, a lot of city places could learn a lot from a trip out into the real world
This is one of my favourite places in the Flinders. The service is friendly. Food and coffee the best in town. A history lesson to behold. If you come to Quorn Emily's is a must do.
