This restaurant is fantastic! The waitress, Ruby, was friendly and professional. She provided great assistance in helping us decide what to order and made some excellent suggestions. The Philly Cheese Steak was amazing, and the tomato basil soup was outstanding. Overall, it’s a great place. It was my first visit, and I will definitely return to try more items from their menu.
This is the best hidden gem in town! I ordered the steak burger, along with fried okra and mashed potatoes smothered in white gravy. The cook actually stepped out to pick the okra fresh from the garden! You could even taste the farmer's touch in the potatoes. I felt like I could taste what my cow had for breakfast. When I say this food is as fresh and homemade as it gets, I mean it! The staff moved quickly to take orders, deliver food, and check if everything was to my liking. I will definitely make this place my go-to whenever I return.
The food arrived cold and was completely devoid of flavor. Even the fries were soggy. The iced tea was unappealing, and the coleslaw was excessively soaked in mayonnaise and tasted stale. Overall, this meal was very overpriced considering how easy it is to prepare these dishes in a flavorful way.
We believed we had discovered our go-to restaurant in Jan's. We enjoyed the food, appreciated the attentive waitress, and found the atmosphere friendly. However, yesterday, we felt like second-class customers. I assumed all patrons would be treated equally, but it seemed there was a customer who mattered more than us. They've lost our business, which may not impact them much, but they did hurt the waitress by taking our tip away from her. I think the management should compensate her for that loss. - Juan
