What Aaron G doesn't like about Causeway Seafood Banawe:
2 cockroach found in chili sauce, could not believe it after years of eating there, hope the would improve their sanitary inspection with this. It is disgusting. Did not continue my meal because of this incident and only sorry from the management, none resolution.
Causeway is a great introductory spot for dim sum restaurants. It offers affordable prices and generally tasty food! Our typical order includes: Wonton Noodle Soup with Braised Beef, Tausi Spare Ribs, Beef Hofan, Beef Balls, and Radish Cake. Don't forget to ask the server about any new items on the menu!
The attentive waitstaff are quick to take your orders, and the food is prepared in no time. The authentic Chinese cuisine is a standout feature of this restaurant. They have two levels of seating available for a better dining experience. However, a common drawback is the limited parking availability. I usually park at a nearby restaurant. They do accept credit cards for payment.
We ordered some of our favorites: half Peking duck served two ways, minced meat wrapped in lettuce, steamed live Kingfish with soy sauce, seafood pancit, broccoli with three types of mushrooms, chicken feet, spinach soup, and egg tarts. The service was quick, and the food was outstanding! We really appreciate that they always have egg tarts available, as my kids adore them. We even ordered some for takeout. However, the fish head dim sum we got for takeout was quite salty. It would be great if that could be adjusted to be less salty, as it is dim sum after all.
This is a budget-friendly Chinese restaurant worth visiting. The shrimp balls are excellent, made with real shrimp pieces. The beef tenderloin dish, prepared in a Chinese style, is tender and flavorful. The fried salt and pepper spareribs are delightful when paired with vinegar. Their Causeway fried chicken is crunchy and delicious, although slightly dry. The Yang Chow rice is packed with a variety of ingredients, including shrimp and vegetables. We also enjoyed the hakaw and xiao long bao, both of which were juicy and delicious. If you’re in the mood for Chinese cuisine, this restaurant is a great choice.
I recommend trying the fried spring rolls; I found it intriguing that they contained shrimp. The beef brisket noodle soup was also enjoyable and definitely generous enough for two people. However, some pieces of the beef were a bit chewy.
