We are always a bit leery of hotel restaurants a... read more We were passing thru on a train trip and stayed overnight at the Best Western, where the restaurant is located. We are always a bit leery of hotel restaurants as they can be either overly-pricey, have substandard food/service, or both. Thankfully, Begbie's passed on both counts. Service was fast and friendly. I had the Quesadillas, which had a crispy outer portion and tasty filling. My husband had the cream chicken soup and the grilled ham and cheese sandwich and said both were very good. Prices were reasonable. We would dine there again.

The waitress mus... read more We had reservations with a large group for dinner. They were not prepared for about 20people. The service was a bit slow but the food was fine. The waitress must have been new and not trained on the computer and credit/debit machine as she was having an awful time. None of us received a bill at the table. We went to the cash register to pay for our dinner. It was utter confusion!! We had 4 at our table and took over 20 minutes to sort out our cheques. I don't blame the poor waitress, but blame the manager for poor training procedures.
