Kaieteur’s dining experience in Queens offers a mixed bag of delights and disappointments. Many patrons rave about the authentic Guyanese cuisine, especially the chicken fried rice and goat curry, creating warm memories of home. However, quality inconsistency plagues the restaurant, with reports of reheated dishes and subpar takeout experiences leading to dissatisfaction. While some diners cherish the welcoming service and generous portions, others encountered a lack of attention to detail and customer service frustrations. Overall, Kaieteur demonstrates potential amidst the chaos, but guests are advised to tread carefully when ordering.

The authenticity of the local Guyanese cuisine was outstanding. I absolutely loved the chicken fried rice and the goat curry. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the incredible food and inviting atmosphere. We will definitely be returning to Kaieteur frequently, as it brought back memories of home in Guyana. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Queens, NY—it’s a must-try! View all feedback.
What christopher s dislikes about Kaieteur:
This was the best Kaieteur location I’ve been to. I dined in one day, and the food was fantastic. However, when I decided to get takeout another day, the food was terrible. It was clear that they reheated old food and soaked it in oil. It's really hit or miss, so I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money here. Food rating: 1/5. View all feedback.
I used to love to eat and order from them. But the quality of their food have dropped dramatically. No more quality food. I ordered black pudding which is a Guyanese favorite snack , I was so upset to see the quality. It is not fresh , it was microwaved which made it stiff and there was hairs of the animal in it. So disgusting ?. I had to throw it out. I will never order from them again. They are serving the public and we need quality food not garbage.

Lisa was an exceptional server! She was incredibly attentive and polite, going above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. Food: 5/5.
Yesterday, I ordered two house special fry rice with shrimp and lamb. My food came with no lamb. When I called to inform,I was told ah right, next time . WTH!! I paid for the lamb how is it ah right ? The rice was not even properly mixed, there were small balls of rice.I called today (7/26) and was put on hold about 10 times because the representative had to answer two phone. Her response to my complain is that we should not have ordered the white fry rice because that is how it is . After much back and forth she said ok, I am apologizing . Seriously, is apology going to give me back my money for the lamb that I never got or for getting half fill container of food that was poorly made. She also recommeded that I call back tomorrow to speak to Natasha. Why could she not informed Natasha since it seems she is problem solver and have her called me since I am the one who paid for something that I did not receive.Do these people realzed they are running a business in New York? This restaurant used to be a A restaurant. No more!!. We need to stop supporting businesses that treats asif we do not deserve the best.I called today as per the very inefficient individual I spoke with yesterday only to have a very ignorant representative (a male) verbally abused me because he wanted me to take down my google review He stated he was wiling to replace the order hecause he is aware that they messed up but he wants me to take down my review. When I refused he got very aggressive over the phone and refused to return my money or replace order.I am appaled that these people are allowed to operate a buseness in NYC. i guess my next step is BBB.
