Well, the Americano was…po... read more (This is an update to a prior review Disaster aleeeeeeert! In my last visit I ordered an Americano, as I suggested in a prior review. Well, the Americano was…poured out of tank. Noooooooo! Pleeeease don’t do that! Getting the right type of coffee is Chapter 1 (how to make this…that… of anyone calling him/herself a barista. We’re not aiming for international standard here but just nailing the basics of coffee making. This place is built like a Ferrari but delivers a Chevrolet. The basic material, i.e. the coffee, is excellent and there’s everything to make coffee to love but they keep failing. In fact, that what’s missing here the love of coffee. Next time, I’ll go for an espresso, the mother of all drinks. Fingers crossed. ——————— This place has the potential to be a 5 star. Superb coffee best taken as an espresso, americano or macchiato. The milk is heated beyond its sweet spot and spoils all milk based options latte, flat white, etc.

Perhaps this is a case of good beans on a bad day I feel this place has more potential. The coffee was either just off the mark on the preparation or on the roasting, and it is disconcerting that I cannot tell which one it is. The cafe has a nice atmosphere, if not indistinctive. They have the right merchandise and the right machinery, so it is hard to pin point where they lose the star in my review. It just feels like something is missing: heart? Soul? Quality control? Perhaps I will try it again to see if it is a bad hair day, but I'll need to sleep over it at the least... There are plenty of fish in the sea, and sometimes it's better to move on than to commit to something that is not right.

Very friendly staff although I had... read more Baked goods were delicious but a bit of a bummer they don’t do flavored coffees! Was really hoping for an Iced Vanilla Latte! Very friendly staff although I had to laugh, she accidentally put an extra donut in my box and was handing me the box as she realized her mistake. She said she would have to charge me or take the donut out. She was very kind and just doing her job as to not get into any trouble but almost comical a large business can’t give an extra donut , when it was their error. Would definitely stop back for some more baked items the next time we are in the area !

And last but not least almond croissant. And the maple late was so velvety smooth. Place was very clean and staff were super friendly and spoke French and English. Definitely stop in to this spot in Quebec City.
