After reading multiple reviews, we decided to dine at Echaude in Quebec City. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the dining experience. The outdoor area was closed, and the tables indoors were too close together, making conversations distracting. The food received mixed reviews, with some finding it to be over salted and overpriced, while others enjoyed specific dishes such as the scallops and ice cream desserts. The service varied, with some guests experiencing terrible service and others receiving attentive and friendly service. Despite the mixed reviews, some guests found the wine selection to be excellent and overall enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Located in a convenient tourist area, Echaude offers good value for the money, but individual experiences may vary.
The Wagyu and the Veal were very flavourful and tasty.
Honestly I was so disappointed with this restaurant. This is my first review ever. My family and I escaped to Quebec City for the weekend for thanksgiving. An important and special weekend for us (personal reasons).The service was terrible. As soon as we got in. Lady who served us seemed like she really either hated us or her job. (Side note:my parents and I are pretty easygoing people)Food wasn’t great for the prices. My parents ordered the special “cod” for the evening, and I ordered the lamb pasta.Was decent…again for the prices, would go somewhere else.I’m sorry to give this place a bad review, but we dined at “lower starred restaurants” with a better experience at least.
Just perfect. Quiet, great food and wine. Try the sugar pie with ice
I had an incredible meal! First and foremost, make sure to sit at the bar. The service from Alexis was outstanding. We started with the goat cheese appetizer and the beef tartare appetizer, both of which were delicious. The potato gnocchi, paired with mushrooms and shrimp in lobster sauce, was fantastic. For dessert, we enjoyed a white chocolate dome with strawberries. I'm not usually a fan of white chocolate, but I absolutely loved it. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience!
The best beer tartare in Québec, without a doubt. It's one of the finest I've ever tasted. They have an excellent selection of wines, and the staff is both professional and friendly. This is my go-to spot in Québec; it never disappoints!
