What Krista D doesn't like about Aux Anciens Canadiens:
If you are going to eat here, stick with Québécois fare. Paying $50 for steak and fries is not worth it. Our waiter also coughed up a lung every time he went to the wait station and was not waving his hands before serving us. View all feedback. What Joel Blattner likes about Aux Anciens Canadiens:
I have eaten here on multiple occasions and have always enjoyed myself. For the most part, the food is great and reflects culinary attributes of the quebecoise culture. I started with the poutine thinking that I had to be in the best place to get one, but I was quite disappointed (fries were nothing special, the gravy was pretty tasty, very few curds, nothing was hot and melted). read moreAux Anciens Canadiens offers a cozy and relaxing dining experience in the oldest house in Quebec City. The restaurant specializes in Québécois fare, with standout dishes like Grandma’s dinner, beef wellington, and maple bread pudding. The service is friendly and energetic, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. While some reviewers found the food to be lacking in presentation and taste, others highly recommend trying the restaurant's signature dishes. The pricing is reasonable for the value, making it a great option for those looking to sample traditional French Canadian cuisine. Whether it's a date night or a family meal, Aux Anciens Canadiens is a must-try when visiting Old Quebec City.
