What User doesn't like about Queanbeyan RSL Bowling Club:
Staying at the Comfort Inn international airport hotel on a Sunday we decided to eat down at the nearest club/pub which happened to be the RSL. There was a total of about 8 patrons in the club and only a few in the restaurant. I ordered the duck with orange sauce. Unfortunately the duck came out with mushroom sauce, not the best start. The duck was fried in thick batter and was very salty, so much so I couldn't eat m... View all feedback.
My colleagues and I decided to go out for dinner and chose to support the nearest RSL club to where we were staying. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we encountered several issues. The RSL card machine was out of order, the sign-in book was damaged and there was no pen available. After waiting for some time with no staff in sight, we finally entered the dining hall, only to be met with a musty smell and outdated decor. The menu only offered Chinese food and many items were crossed out with black marker as unavailable. Despite it being a Friday night, there were very few customers inside, most of whom seemed to be at the pokies. After assessing the situation, we decided to leave and find somewhere else to eat. It was a very disappointing experience indeed.
The exterior of this establishment does not accurately represent its interior. Once inside, you will discover a fantastic ambiance with reasonably priced meals and drinks that are likely cheaper than those at the nearby pub. The service was excellent, and the Chinese restaurant serves high-quality dishes. The portions of food are also very generous. Whether you visit on a weeknight or weekend, it is a great place to dine. And while you are there, be sure to try some of the best green vegetables in the area.
I recommend stopping by Bowls Club for a meal at this Chinese restaurant while staying overnight in Queanbeyan. The food was delicious and affordable. Just be aware that they only accept cash payments.
Although the menu was pretty standard as far as Chinese restaurants are concerned, the meals were ordinary at best, lacking taste and texture. Service was unsmiling and unwelcoming. Cash only was the last straw.
